Filing Begins Monday

Monday is the first day residents may file declarations of candidacy for Valley water, sewer and fire district seats up for election.

To be eligible for the Sept. 16 primary election, candidates must file the necessary paperwork with the county Auditor’s Elections Department by 5 p.m. Friday at in Room 201 of the Spokane County Courthouse, West 1116 Broadway. For information, call 456-2320.

The general election will be held Nov. 4.

Available positions include:

Fire District No. 1: Commissioner No. 1, a six-year term;

Commissioner No. 2, a short term plus a six-year term.

Fire District No. 8: Commissioner No. 1, a six-year term.

Fire District No. 9: Commissioner No. 1, a six-year term.

Fire District No. 13: Commissioner No. 1, a six-year term.

Liberty Lake Sewer District: Commissioner No. 1, a six-year term.

East Spokane Water District: Commissioner No. 1, a six-year term.

Spokane County Water District No. 3: Commissioner No. 1, a six-year term.

Irvin Water District: Commissioner No. 1, a six-year term.
