Indians Get Another Pitching Gem Against Ems

The Spokane Indians are discovering why the Eugene Emeralds have the worst record in the Northwest League.

In two games, Eugene has managed six hits off Spokane pitching, four of those coming Friday in the Indians’ 3-1 victory over the Emeralds.

The combined four-hitter by Spokane’s Justin Pedersen, Aaron Carter and Justin Lamber followed Thursday’s 13-0 Spokane victory in which Eugene went hitless for the first eight innings.

In addition to the fine pitching, Spokane batters have hit three home runs in each of the two games. Friday’s blasts, all solo shots, were by Jeremy Hill, Juan LeBron and Dave Willis.

In the seventh inning, LeBron and Willis homered on consecutive pitches. Willis’ blast was estimated at 450 feet. , DataTimes
