Warnings Increase For Overgrown Yards
The wet winter and spring has lawns growing like weeds in Moscow, and city officials are cracking down on residents who let their yards get out of hand.
“It’s not fair to people who spray and maintain their yards to live next door to someone that just lets their weeds go,” animal control officer Jim Costlow said.
Police Chief Dan Weaver said the department is getting more weed complaints than ever before. And instead of the three or four citations a year issued in the past, the city is now notifying three or four residents a week that they could face a $300 fine if they do not get their yards back in shape in five days.
