Insist That All’s A Lie, And Somebody Will Believe It
Princess Diana reprimanded an aide on Friday for telling - well, the truth?
The aide, name undisclosed, reported that Diana was angry that her 14-year-old son, William, had invited his former nanny (an ex-employee of Prince Charles’) to a school picnic.
Nonsense, Diana said. “Contrary to the reports appearing in the media this week, the Princess of Wales was more than pleased that Tiggy Legge-Bourke was able to be with Prince William on parents’ day,” read a statement.
Oh yeah? Legge-Bourke, who quit her nanny job in March over complaints that Diana was jealous of her relationship with William and brother Harry, settled a libel suit with Diana last year. The suit, the terms of which were never released, was based on cutting remarks that Diana had made about Legge-Bourke at a party.
Loose talk
Anne Heche (“Volcano”) on getting movie roles (as reported by Knight-Ridder): “One of the frightening things about acting right now is that you can’t just be an actor, or people won’t hire you. You’ve got to be out there in the media, you have to be in the magazines because most people (in the industry) don’t see the movie, honestly.”
As for retirement weather, some like it hot
Tony Curtis turns 72 today.

The surprise involved Di sneaking away from her security detail to make the rendezvous. For his part, Khan denied that a romance is occurring.

Those quips you hear are cracks of the Batman
Also from Hollywood: Although it’s due out on June 20, “Batman and Robin” is still shooting. Word is that director Joel Schumacher is attempting to cull some of the jokiness so that George Clooney can get more on-screen time as the Dark Knight himself.
She’s merely singing, but he’s wailing the blues
Here’s one you could predict: 27-year-old singer Mariah Carey has moved out from the digs she shared with 48-year-old Tommy Mottola. Word is she’s tired of doing everything the head of Sony Records tells her to. The two have been married for four years.
Milano changes her cry to ‘On with the Show’
And all you “Melrose Place” fans might care that Grant Show, 34, responded to being dumped by Laura Leighton by hooking up with new cast member Alyssa Milano, 24. Leighton is involved with series co-star, Doug Savant.
