Worley Highway District Given Thanks With A Dinner

The Sam Rodius Memorial Park Association and residents of the Cougar Gulch/Meadowbrook area recently hosted an appreciation dinner for the Worley Highway District employees and their families.

Residents expressed thanks to the district for continued fine maintenance of local roads, especially during the past winter.

Boy Scouts of America and local volunteers held an ice storm clean up weekend at the 75-year-old Camp Easton on Lake Coeur d’Alene during April.

The camp lost 1/3 of its overall timber out of a total 600 acres.

The Army has announced a variety of new enlistment enhancement incentives which include an Army College Fund increase from $30,000 to $40,000 and Delayed Entry Program soldiers that qualify.

Other incentive increases are Army College Fund enlistment increases of $40,000 for four-year enlistment, $33,000 for a three-year enlistment and $26,500 for a two-year enlistment.

Enlistment bonuses were also increased from $1,000 to a maximum of $12,000 for those who qualify in chosen fields, and the Loan Repayment Program maximum incentive has increased from $55,000 to $60,000.

This program, which attracted more than three percent of all non-prior service accessions in 1996, allows recruits at least three years to pay off college debts incurred as civilians.

Best Western Templin’s Resort and Hotel in Post Falls has adopted the Best Western “Have a Super Hero Summer at Best Western” promotion.

This campaign features DC Comics’ Batman and Superman, and caters to traveling families who desire something fresh and exciting for their children.

The program offers guests a 15-exposure Quicksnap single-use Batman camera and a collectible DC comic/activity book with special offers from Fuji, Six Flags Theme Parks, United Artists Theatres, Warner Bros. Home Video and AT&T. Retail value of the camera and comic book exceeds $50.
