Hints From Heloise

King Features Syndicate

Dear Heloise: A few days ago, I read a hint regarding fabric-softener sheets. To be more cost-effective, I put the core from an empty roll of them into similar places, such as lingerie and linen drawers and suitcases. This gives the core another life. Sue Cosley, Harrisonburg, Va.

Dear Heloise: Going to the beach or pool this summer? I keep all beach toys (pails, shovels, water guns) in a plastic mesh tote (plastic laundry baskets work well, too).

Cleanup time is simple since all toys can be dunked in the water for a final rinsing. Air-drying is a snap. I store the toys in this tote over the winter so we are always ready to go next season. - Linda B. West, Winston-Salem, N.C.
