Northwest Jet Makes Emergency Landing
A Northwest Airlines 757 made an emergency landing at Spokane International Airport after the pilot shut down an engine Thursday.
The plane landed safely at about 10:43 a.m. There were no injuries among the 147 passengers and crew aboard the flight from Boston to Seattle, Northwest spokeswoman Kathy Peach said.
The pilot shut off one of the aircraft’s two engines after warning lights indicated an oil pressure problem, Peach said.
The passengers were taken off the plane and put on other flights to Seattle.
Bob Norman, the airport’s tower operations supervisor, said the landing caused little commotion.
“We were pretty light on traffic and everything was pretty smooth coming in,” he said.
