Hepatitis A Scare At Sims Fund-Raiser

From Staff And Wire Reports

Some guests at a fund-raiser for King County Executive Ron Sims may need shots to ward off hepatitis A.

The Seattle-King County Health Department says a guest who made spinach salad for the May 31 potluck dinner was diagnosed with the illness several days later and may have contaminated the dish he prepared.

Any of the approximately 95 guests who ate the salad should get inoculated against the virus before Saturday, the health department said.

The fund-raiser at a private home in Seattle’s Montlake neighborhood was a casual event for younger voters.
