Share Your Gardening Tips With Us

Anyone who gardens knows the best tips come from those who have gardened in the area for years. With just a bit of prompting they’ll come forth with the ideal planting date, year in and year out, for tomatoes, and which tomato varieties will stand up to the late-July heat waves.

They’ll share secrets for growing gigantic zucchini, award-winning pumpkins and sweet raspberries. Methods of keeping slugs at bay will come fast and furious. And roses are always a conversation starter.

We want you to share your gardening tip with all of our readers. The best tips for growing flowers, fruit, vegetables or lawn will be apropos specifically for Inland Northwest gardens. We’ll publish a collection of your gardening advice in IN Life in early July. As an incentive for submitting your tip: The person who submits the best tip (picked by a gardening expert on our staff) will receive a copy of the new “Reader’s Digest Ideas for Your Garden.”

Send your tip to NW Gardening, Features Department, The Spokesman-Review, 999 W. Riverside, Spokane, WA 99210; fax it to 459-5098 or e-mail it to susane@spokesman.com. The deadline is 5 p.m. on June 20.
