Sluggish Toney Wins

Compiled From Wire Services

James Toney started out slowly but took charge after the first two rounds and captured the vacant IBO cruiserweight championship with a 12-round unanimous decision over Steve Little at the Biloxi Grand Theatre.

Toney (55-4-2, 35 knockouts), of Ann Arbor, Mich., was unable to put Little (24-15-2) on the floor despite landing several shots to Little’s face.
