Community Center’s Stolen Van Found

From Staff And Wire Reports

Spokane County sheriff’s deputies on Tuesday recovered a van stolen from the Peaceful Valley Community Center last week.

The van was found parked behind the Flying J truck stop near Interstate 90 and Broadway, said Deputy Dave Reagan, sheriff’s spokesman.

The 15-passenger blue Ford apparently was abandoned there Friday evening, several hours after it was stolen from the center, Reagan said.

It was towed to the city of Spokane’s garage to be checked out and will be returned to the center soon.

Peaceful Valley officials were scrambling to replace the van after it disappeared. The nonprofit organization uses the vehicle to take kids on field trips and deliver food to the needy.

No arrests have been made in the theft. , DataTimes MEMO: Cut in Spokane edition
