Jordan, Bulls Help Nbc Score Weekly Ratings Win

Associated Press

Proving his mettle on the court and on the tube, Michael Jordan helped NBC score another lopsided win in the Nielsen Media Research ratings by leading the Chicago Bulls to their fifth championship.

The week’s most watched program was Game 5 of the National Basketball Association’s Finals, in which Jordan shook off the flu to nail the game-winning shot against the Utah Jazz.

Only ABC’s “PrimeTime Live” last Wednesday prevented NBC from scoring a clean sweep of the week’s top 10 shows.

ABC’s “World News Tonight” won the evening news ratings race for the fifth week in a row. It had a 7.4 rating and 17 share, followed by “NBC Nightly News” with a 7.1 rating and 17 share and “The CBS Evening News”’ with a 6.3 rating and 15 share.
