Athlete Injured In Fall

A member of the Japanese men’s national volleyball team sustained minor injuries after falling from a third-story hotel window in Curitiba, Brazil, the Jornal do Brasil news agency reported.

Minamai Iroiuke was admitted to the Hospital Evangelico with head injuries and a fractured wrist after the fall.

It was not immediately clear what caused Iroiuke to fall, but the news agency said the most probable cause was that he lost his balance near the window, which had a low sill.
