Floyd Found Innocent
By calling a San Francisco radio station, San Francisco 49ers fullback William Floyd announced to the world that he had been acquitted of drunken-driving charges.
The news was not all good for Floyd, though. He was sentenced to two years of probation and 50 hours of community service for weapons charges stemming from his October arrest. He also must pay a $640 fine.
The 49ers thought they had their backup tightend problems solved when they signed free agent Brett Carolan, a former Washington State University player. But Carolan reinjured his knee during minicamp and has decided to retire.
