Trail’s Early Runs Too Much For Blue Devils

Trail, British Columbia, scored three runs in the first two innings Sunday and they stood up for a 4-2 victory over the Blue Devils in the Coeur d’Alene American Legion baseball tournament.

George Petticrew, drafted as a pitcher by the Kansas City Royals, belted a solo home run to give the Blue Devils their second run in the seventh inning.

Saturday, Petticrew, a Lakeside High School graduate, tossed a two-hitter and Jeff Lafferty clinched the victory with a sixth-inning homer as the Blue Devils defeated the Twins 5-1.

Petticrew struck out nine and walked only one.
