Mcdonald’s Team Wins Tourney Title

Host team McDonald’s won three straight to capture the championship of its weekend Class A American Legion tournament in Cheney.

The team scored eight first-inning runs to defeat Dimensions 10-7 in its opener, handed the Deer Park Eagles just their second loss this summer and beat Grocery Outlet from Freeman in the championship game.

Grocery Outlet had beaten Carsten’s Marine and Houk Chiropractic from Mead in its pool.

The finalists are in the middle of the American Legion League’s North Division to date.

Ferris teams continue to experience success in their respective Legion leagues.

The Browne Mountain Bandits, a FerrisUniversity-Freeman combination, share second place in the AAA League.

Kimmel Athletic stands fourth in the South Division of the AA League.

In the A League North, Ferris moved into third place after improving its record to 6-1.
