Nic Trustees To Select New Members On Monday

From Staff And Wire Reports

The three remaining North Idaho College trustees will meet Monday to pick two new board members. The public meeting will begin at 5 p.m. in Todd Hall of the NIC Library.

Nine people have applied for the positions, which were left open by the resignations of Sue Thilo and Steve Widmyer.

Both stepped down this month during the controversy that followed NIC President Robert Bennett’s forced resignation. Remaining members are Jeanne Givens, Bob Ely and Barb Chamberlain.

The four latest people to apply for the trustee spots are David Wold, a Coeur d’Alene eye doctor and former Coeur d’Alene School Board member; James Kimball, an engineer who ran unsuccessfully in last fall’s trustee election; Sheila Wood, a former NIC English instructor; and Bill Nixon, a Coeur d’Alene attorney.

Last week, five people applied. They are former trustee Norm Gissel, an attorney; Barrie TreborMacConnell, a retired Naval commander; David Paquin, an executive who ran unsuccessfully for the board in November; Roland Curtis, a commissioner for the Bayview Fire Protection District; and Randy Geib, a state employee who worked with NIC on Idaho’s welfare-to-work program. , DataTimes
