She’s A Beauty
FOR THE RECORD (July 11, 1997): Name wrong: Veronica Stevens, who nominated hairdresser Jeanette Brenner as an Everyday Hero, was misidentified on the INLife cover June 28. (Note: The published text said Diane Bisson of Spokane nominated Brenner.)
Jeanette Brenner
I would like to nominate my hairdresser, Jeanette Brenner, as an Everyday Hero.
Jeanette has been a hair stylist for over 20 years and is very active in the Cosmetology Association, which oversees the beauty salon industry.
She works at Alicia’s Hair Salon on South Monroe and volunteers her time and talents to do the hair and wigs for the Uptown Opera company here in Spokane.
She helps to determine the historically correct styles for the period in which the opera takes place and does the actors’ hair for performances.
She also works with women who have lost their hair from chemotherapy treatments. She provides them with wigs and helps them to look and feel better about themselves.
Jeanette is an important part of our community. She is definitely an Everyday Hero.
