Christian Workers Will Meet At Four Sites

The annual Christian Workers Conference will be Thursday through next Saturday with workshops addressing such issues as leadership, children, Christian living, administration, counseling, contemporary issues, women and missions.

Workshops will include “Why Men Do What They Do,” “Creative Storytelling Techniques,” “How to Recruit and Keep Volunteers” and “Understanding Your Teenager.”

Registration will be at 8 a.m. Thursday at the Riverpark Convention Center. Workshops will be in the Convention Center, Ag Trade Center, Opera House and the Red Lion Hotel.

Admission at the door is $50 for all three days or $25 per day; $8 for one workshop or general session; or $2 for an exhibit pass. For more information, call 326-4000.

Fund-raisers planned for trip

The choir of the Cathedral of Our Lady of Lourdes will conduct “Neapolitan Sunday Afternoon” fund-raisers Sunday and March 16.

The money raised will help send the choir on a performance tour of Rome in May.

The choir will perform during a special dinner served at 1 p.m. Sunday and March 16 at the Old Spaghetti Factory, 152 S. Monroe.

Tickets, $15, are available through the cathedral office, 1115 W. Riverside, and Washington Photo, 101 S. Division.

St. Aloysius School auction set

St. Aloysius School will hold its annual dinner and auction at 5 this afternoon. Auction items include a children’s playhouse; round-trip tickets for two to see Spokane’s John Stockton and the Utah Jazz play the Houston Rockets; jerseys and basketballs autographed by John Stockton; a Ken Griffey Jr. autograph package; and gift certificates from area businesses, restaurants and hotels.

Tickets are $25; seating is limited to 250. Tickets not presold will be available at the door. Money raised will help upgrade the school’s electrical wiring to add computers.

AGLOW offers spring retreat

The annual Women’s AGLOW Spring Retreat will be at Templin’s Resort in Post Falls, March 7-9, using the theme, “Zeal! How’s Your Zeal Appeal?” Featured speaker will be JoAnne Meckstroth, Northwest regional representative of AGLOW International.

Registration is $50 for members and $53 for non-members.

Formation of church under way

A special worship service will be at 5 p.m. today at the Life Center Church, 708 W. Nora, for those interested in forming a new church on the South Hill.

Services are expected to begin in the fall.

A specific site for the church, already named Summit Ridge Foursquare Church, has not yet been chosen.

Stations changed

Location for some Stations of the Cross staged by the Lenten Fridays Remembrance Guild have been changed: stations 9, 10, and 11 on March 14 will now take place in Manito Park’s Duncan Garden at 4 p.m.
