Bi-County Is Small-Schools Leader

No doubt about it, the Bi-County League is the hotbed of small-school girls basketball.

Tonight’s all Bi-County final between Ritzville and Wilbur-Creston will give the league its ninth title in 19 years. Both schools have rich traditions.

Before Wilbur and Creston consolidated for sports, Creston played Reardan in three consecutive title games, winning in 1982 and 1984. Wilbur-Creston lost to Tekoa-Oakesdale in the 1991 title game.

Ritzville has played in two title games, defeating Naselle in 1979 and losing to Tekoa-Oakesdale in 1991. Whitman County teams have won four titles and the Panorama League three.
