House Oks Bill To Study Tax Division

Rep. Hilde Kellogg’s bill to have a legislative interim committee study how Idaho divides its tax monies between local governments easily passed The House Tuesday.

After the vote, Kellogg said she was assured the measure will get a Senate committee hearing Friday. That should allow it to squeak through before the legislative session ends.

The study could be fruitful, said Kellogg, R-Post Falls.

“I think we have to get our feet on the ground and make some policy decisions,” she said. I think the study, and the report the committee would give to the Legislature, will be able to provide that.”
