Meetings On Riverside State Park Planned

From Staff Reports

The public will get a chance to contribute to a management plan for Riverside State Park starting next week.

Meetings are set for Monday and Tuesday to deal with issues that have been controversial in the past year, including boundaries and land-use classifications.

The meetings are scheduled as follows:

Monday, 7 p.m., Spokane Falls Community College Student Union Building, a briefing on park planning and land classification procedures.

Tuesday, 7 p.m., Spokane wastewater treatment plant conference room, enrollment of volunteers and development of work programs.

“We hope to have a management plan for the (Washington Parks and Recreation) commission to consider in October,” Gary Herron, Riverside State Park manager, said.

Announcements of the meetings have been written but apparently have not reached all people and groups involved in recent park issues, Herron said. , DataTimes
