Cabinet Offers Place To Display Collectibles

Don And Dave Runyan U-Bild Features

Now do-it-yourselfers can display treasured collectibles while protecting them from dust and curious hands. Wall-mounted or placed on a table or countertop, this handsome display cabinet will look great in any room, from the kitchen to the bedroom to the bathroom.

The project features tempered glass doors and three shelves - plenty of space to display almost anything. Its finish is up to the builder, so the cabinet will match any decor.

The cabinet pictured was built from oak and sealed with a clear coat, but it just as easily might have been built from pine and stained or painted.

This is good project for woodworkers of all skill levels because the design calls for all straight cuts and straightforward construction techniques. Even beginners can achieve excellent results.

The completed display cabinet measures about 31-1/2 inches wide by 22 inches tall by 9 inches deep. The shelves are each about 7-1/4 inches deep.

The Display Cabinet plan, No. 865, is $8.95 and includes step-by-step directions with photos, fullsize traceable patterns, exploded diagrams and a shopping list and cutting schedule.

A package of curio furniture plans, No. C116, is $18.95 and includes this plan plus plans for a Craftsman-style bookcase and a curio coffee table. A catalog picturing hundreds of projects is $3.95. Prices include postage and handling. Please allow 3-4 weeks for delivery (for first-class mail, add $1 per item up to $3 maximum).
