Dear Heloise: My hint has to do with the electrical plugs that fit in the outlets in only one direction. I put nail polish on the “top” of the plug. This saves on frustration. I never realized how many things I plugged in and always got the plug upside down. - Barbara King, Scotch Plains, N.J.

Now we are all “plugged” in to the way to do it. I do almost the same thing with cords for the cellular phone charger/adapter. It saves that little aggravation. - Heloise:

Dear Heloise: Everyone, including children, should know how to squeeze a tube, no matter if it is toothpaste, shaving cream, ointment or anything else. Start at the bottom and work upwards. It is exasperating to see any tube squeezed from the middle. - Sidney Smith, Sunset Hills, Mo.
