Delta Dawn, Better Keep That Sweater On

Compiled By Staff Writer Rick Bo

Newsman Stone Phillips has interviewed everyone from Boris Yeltsin to Howard Stern, but he’ll probably never forget Tanya Tucker.

While trailing Tucker for an upcoming “Dateline NBC” profile, Phillips followed her to a Nashville party where fellow country stars Ty Herndon and Collin Raye were performing. Tucker traded off-color insults with Herndon before flashing her breasts.

Tucker told USA Today it happened “after a couple of drinks,” explaining: “Someone said something and I like lifted up my sweater like this … It’s no big deal. I can’t believe people don’t have anything better to do or talk about.”

As for the photogenic Phillips, she said: “If he wasn’t married, he wouldn’t have gotten back to New York.”

Loose talk

Hustler publisher Larry Flynt, on criticism from feminist icon Gloria Steinem (in Entertainment Weekly): “Gloria Steinem is an ancient, worn-out old relic whose only claim to fame is urging some ugly women to march.”

We’ll probably see him in his birthday suit

Rob Lowe turns 33 today.

You mean he just had it turned up too far?

TV’s “Inside Edition” reports that Hollywood heartthrob Brad Pitt was arrested in 1988 for flashing motorists along the Pacific Coast Highway with two actor friends as a prank and pleaded no contest to reduced charges. Pitt’s manager called it “nothing worse than someone that would be playing their stereo loud and have the neighbors call.”

Actually, her ethics sound kind of fuzzy

Supermodel Naomi Campbell, who posed nude three years ago in a “We’d rather go naked than wear fur” ad, has been dumped by People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals after twice being spotted wearing furs. “I don’t know what you’re taking,” PETA head Dan Matthews wrote to her, “but it’s not an ethics course.”

The person inside isn’t what they’re after

Sixties sex kitten Joey Heatherton has finally agreed to pose nude for Playboy magazine, at age 53. “They asked me when I was a kid (and) I was intimidated by the idea,” Heatherton explained. “And now, I just felt I like the person inside. I was flattered.”

So, they’ll have to bare their bottom line

A Los Angeles judge has ordered Penthouse to open its financial records to Pamela Anderson Lee, who is suing the magazine over an allegedly stolen video showing the former “Baywatch” babe and her rocker hubby, Tommy Lee, having sex. The couple wants to know how much money Penthouse made on the issue that described the video.

The working title: ‘Men Behaving Naturally’

Finally, Rob Lowe, who’s kept a fairly low profile since the hubbub over an erotic home video made in his hotel suite during the 1988 Democratic National Convention, has signed with Paramount to star in a TV sitcom. No details were announced.
