Energy Summit Will Focus On Regulations
Idaho Sen. Larry Craig will chair a regional energy summit in Boise to examine how proposed changes to federal regulations that govern electricity supply might affect consumers and businesses in Idaho and the Pacific Northwest.
The energy summit is scheduled for June 30.
“This is a complicated issue with important implications for Idaho and the entire Pacific Northwest,” Craig said. “I think it’s important we bring the debate out of Washington and to the people who will be most affected by what’s eventually decided.”
Competing legislative proposals before Congress could increase or decrease the cost of electricity and the level of service available to consumers.
Invited speakers at the summit include Elizabeth Moler, who chairs the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission.
