UW Student’s Condition Serious After Fall

From Staff And Wire Reports

A 22-year-old University of Washington student was listed in serious condition Tuesday as authorities continued their investigation of her four-story fall onto the roof of a dormitory’s cafeteria.

Dawn Mott, a transfer student who’s been attending the UW for two years, suffered multiple broken bones after falling through a plate glass window at about 5:15 p.m. Monday, according to a nursing supervisor at Harborview Medical Center.

Mott fell through her sixth-floor room’s plate-glass window and landed on a second-story awning above the cafeteria, university police chief Roger Ferra said.

A young man who was inside the dorm room with Mott when she fell was interviewed by police and released.

Police have not been able to interview Mott because of her injuries.
