The Energizer Bunny, which just keeps going and going, is the best commercial pitch-pet of all time, according to the new issue of Entertainment Weekly.

Staffers at the magazine viewed hundreds of commercials going back to the dawn of TV, and voted on a top-50.

“Escape of the Bunny,” the 1989 ad where the Energizer rabbit walked out of his own commercial and into parodies of three others, topped the list. The ad was actually the second in the Energizer Bunny series.

The spots weren’t judged on their effectiveness in selling product but on aesthetic grounds, the mag said.
