Hints From Heloise

King Features Syndicate

Dear Heloise: I save all my cartons (16-ounce) from cottage cheese, sour cream and soft margarine. I wash them and put them away.

When I cook chop suey, beef stew, soup, pepper steak, etc., I fill these cartons, label and date them and store them in the freezer.

I make a list of what I have, including the date and how many of each. When I take one out, I decrease the number. It’s just enough for one meal for one person. - Emily Szewczykowski, Chicago, Ill.

Dear Heloise: A traveling hint: Always pack a candle to rub on a suitcase zipper that suddenly refuses to budge. - Bernice C. Nossoff, Camarillo, Calif.

And you have it handy in case of an emergency! Great hint. - Heloise
