Manon Rheaume, the only woman ever to play in an NHL exhibition game, was released from the Canadian national women’s team.

Rheaume, who made hockey history when she played in a 1992 NHL exhibition game for the Tampa Bay Lightning, has also played in the Eastern Hockey League.

The Quebec native played on two previous world champion women’s teams.
