Hints From Heloise

King Features Syndicate

Dear Heloise: Here’s a hint that means a lot to me. I have shared it with others and they like it.

My husband is deceased. I took his wedding ring to a jeweler and had a small heart put inside and a hanger on the ring.

It made a beautiful necklace and I have received so many compliments on it. - Mary Blackburn, Conover, N.C.

Dear Heloise: Cut the top and bottom from a coffee can, then put the plastic lid on the bottom of the can.

Fill with soil, place cuttings in can, then finish filling with soil and keep it watered.

After a frost, we cut our angel’s-trumpet stalk into 13 pieces and put them in the cans with soil and plastic lids. After a few weeks the new shoots begin to appear. It’s such an easy way to start new cuttings. Remove plastic lid and place in holes as large as the cans. - Lucille Michell, Call, Texas
