Pair Must Reimburse State Fund For False Workers Comp Claims
Two Bozeman men have been ordered to pay restitution for workers compensation fraud, the State Compensation Insurance Fund announced Thursday.
Edwin Taylor pleaded guilty last month to felony theft for a work comp claim he made while he was employed for the state Transportation Department.
His fraudulent claim resulted in benefits of $55,362.
District Judge Frank Davis deferred Taylor’s sentence for three years on the conditions that he repay the benefits he received and perform 300 hours of community service.
Craig Draper of Bozeman also has begun paying restitution on $4,640 on fraudulent benefits he received from the state fund. He also was ordered to pay a $2,000 fine and perform 40 hours of community service for his 1996 conviction.
