Thomas Pollman Kettle Falls, Wash.
Service for Thomas J. Pollman, 80, will be at 11 a.m Monday at the Danekas Funeral Chapel in Colville, Wash. Burial will follow at the Pia Cemetery on Kelly Hill.
Mr. Pollman, who was born in Yelm, Wash., died Wednesday.
He graduated from Yelm High School and was a longtime Kettle Falls resident.
Mr. Pollman worked as a logger on the Washington coast before entering the Army in 1942. He moved to Eastern Washington after serving in the military and married Elizabeth Arnold in 1952.
In 1963 Mr. Pollman and his wife moved to Packwood, Wash., where he worked as a logger and earned his marine pilot’s license. He operated a fishing charter business out of Ilwaco, Wash., for several years.
In 1975 they moved to the Inchelium, Wash., area where he worked as a pilot on the Gifford-Inchelium ferry. He retired in 1991.
Mr. Pollman is survived by his wife; a son Gary Pollman of Lacey, Wash.,; two stepsons, Bud and Gary Clark, both of Kettle Falls; a stepdaughter, Eileen Weatherman of Kettle Falls, Wash.; a brother, William Pollman of Olympia; a sister, Winifred Slyter of Tacoma; nine grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Salvation Army.
Earl Bumgardner Hayden, Idaho
Memorial service for Earl M. Bumgardner, 69, will be today at 1 p.m. at the Yates Funeral Home-Hayden Lake Chapel.
Mr. Bumgardner, who was born in Nebraska, died Wednesday.
He attended school in Lincoln, Neb., and later served in the Navy during World War II.
After his military discharge, Mr. Bumgardner worked in Lincoln as a butcher and truck driver and operated his own upholstery business.
He moved to Coeur d’Alene in 1976 and owned and operated ACAR upholstery for the last five years.
Survivors include his wife Helen; three sons, Earl Bumgardner of Pinehurst, Idaho, Steven Bumgardner of Kingston, Idaho, and Michael Bumgardner of Omaha, Neb.; two daughters, Carolyn Harris of Post Falls and Sharlene Tucker of Hayden Lake; two stepsons, George Hill of Montana and Jerry Hill of Hayden; a stepdaughter, Cheryl Baldwin of Rathdrum, Idaho; and many grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Frances Humphries Spokane
Visitation for Frances Margaret (Jemison) Humphries, 90, will be from noon to 6 p.m. today and noon to 1 p.m. Sunday at the Ball and Dodd Funeral Home-North. Graveside service will be at 1 p.m. Sunday at the Fairmount Memorial Park. Memorial service will be at 2:30 p.m. at the Spokane Valley United Methodist Church.
Mrs. Humphries, a lifetime Spokane resident, died Wednesday.
She graduated from North Central High School.
Mrs. Humphries worked at Kemp and Hebert’s Department Store for two years before attending Washington State College. She later worked for the Interstate Telephone Company.
In 1936 she married Bert Humphries, whom she had met in college. He died in 1989.
Mrs. Humphries was a member of Spokane Valley United Methodist Church and United Methodist Women.
Survivors include a daughter, Carolyn Fries of Mead; a son, John Humphries of Loveland, Colo.; a brother, George Jemison of Medford, Ore.; six grandchildren and one great-granddaughter.

Rovilla ‘Babe’ Dashiell Chewelah, Wash.
Family graveside service for Rovilla Muriel “Babe” Dashiell, 88, will be at 2 p.m. Monday at the Chewelah Memorial Park. A memorial gathering will be at 3 p.m. at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Chewelah. Schanzenbach Funeral Home in Chewelah is in charge of arrangements.
Mrs. Dashiell, who was born in Cedonia, Wash., died Wednesday.
She graduated from Rockford High School.
She moved to Summit Valley, near Addy, Wash., in 1940, before moving to Chewelah in 1958.
Mrs. Dashiell was an Avon representative for 18 years. She was a National Grange member and a member of the Chewelah Music Boosters.
Survivors include her husband Chet Dashiell; a son, Dick Dashiell of Deer Park; two daughters, Nancy Miller and Ann Rail, both of Chewelah; a brother, Jack Fletcher of Cedonia; two sisters, Gwyn Hubenthal of Spokane, and Ruth Ottosen of Fairfield; nine grandchildren, 19 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.
Alma Adams Ritzville, Wash.
Visitation for Alma I. Adams, 82, is scheduled from 1 to 7 p.m. Sunday and from 9 to 11 a.m. Monday at the Danekas Funeral Home in Ritzville. Service will be at 11 a.m. Monday at the Danekas Funeral Home. Burial service will follow at the Fairmount Memorial Park in Spokane.
Mrs. Adams, who was born in North Dakota, died Wednesday.
She had worked as a waitress in Minnesota, where she waited on John Dillinger, and at the Desert Oasis in Spokane, where she served Bing Crosby. She and her husband, Ray Adams, moved to Ritzville in 1960.
Mrs. Adams was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church of Ritzville and the Ritzville Women’s Bowling League.
Survivors include her husband of 58 years, Ray; a son, Dennis Adams of Ritzville; a daughter, Cheri Schroeder of Spokane; nine grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren and eight great-great-grandchildren.

Harriet Bemiss Spokane
Service for Harriet (Fisher) Bemiss, 86, will be at 11 a.m. today at the Sherman-Knapp Funeral Home in Newport, Wash. Graveside service will follow at the Newport Cemetery.
Mrs. Bemiss, who was born in Cusick, Wash., died Tuesday.
She graduated from Washington State University with a teaching degree, and taught at Hunters (Wash.) School District for a short time and at Arlington Elementary for 19 years.
In 1938 She married Carmin Bemiss in Newport. He died in 1985.
Mrs. Bemiss was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star and the Retired Teachers Association and had lived in Spokane for 50 years.
Survivors include two daughters, Pat McLachlan of Olympia and Diane Bemiss of Chattaroy; and five grandchildren.

Travis Payne Osburn, Idaho
Service for Travis Ryan Payne, 7, will be Monday at 4 p.m. at the Osburn Community Baptist Church. Shoshone Funeral Services is in charge of arrangements.
Travis, who was born in Houston, Texas, died Thursday.
He was a student at Osburn Elementery.
Survivors include his parents, Eric and Marci Payne; three brothers, Jared, Craig and Joshua; two sisters, Jessica and Kristen, all at home; a paternal grandmother, Delilah Payne of Bath Springs, Tenn.; and maternal grandparents, Lewis and Louise O’Hara of Wilburton, Okla.
Memorials may be made to the special education program at the Osburn Elementary school.
Earl Thomas Coeur d’Alene
Service for Earl F. Thomas, 87, will be held Wednesday at 1 p.m. at the Sandpoint First Lutheran Church. Interment will follow at Pinecrest Memorial Park in Sandpoint. Coffelt Funeral Service is in charge of arrangements.
Mr. Thomas, who was born in Iowa, died April 26.
He graduated from high school and junior college in Iowa, and later operated a motorized paper route and a delivery service for a bottling company.
Mr. Thomas had served in the Navy as a fireman at Farragut Naval Training Station during World War II, later settling in Sandpoint.
He worked for the Sandpoint Fire Department and retired as assistant fire chief in 1972.
He owned and rented homes in Sandpoint. He was a member of the First Lutheran Church and the Idaho Firefighters Association.
His wife, Charlotte, died in 1984.
Survivors include nieces and nephews; and a close friend, Carl Verdal of Sandpoint.
Estella Garrison-Stromgren Spokane
Service for Estella Maria (Munn) Garrison-Stromgren, 78, will be at 2 p.m. today at the Sunset Mausoleum Chapel at the Fairmount Memorial Park. Riplinger Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
Mrs. Garrison-Stromgren, who was born in Spokane, died Thursday.
She graduated from Lewis and Clark High School and worked as a book binder for schools.
She married Del Stromgren in 1945. She married Howard Garrison in 1970.
Mrs. Garrison-Stromgren was a member of the Central Seventh-day Adventist Church, the Lilac Blind Foundation and the Daughters of the American Revolution.
Survivors include her husband, Howard Garrison; and two sisters, Dorothy Davis of Yakima and Betty Rouse of Maryland.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Lilac Blind Foundation.
Bernice Northey Spokane
Service for Bernice Marie Northey, 90, will be 10 a.m. today at the Hennessey-Smith Funeral Home. Burial will follow at the Holy Cross Cemetery.
Mrs. Northey, who died Wednesday, was born in Bismarck, N.D.
She had lived in Spokane for 60 years and was bookkeeper for an insurance company.
Mrs. Northey was a member of St. Augustine Parish.
Survivors include her husband of 58 years, James Northey; two daughters, Donna Ford of Greenacres, and Lynne Billings of Seattle; a sister, LaVerne Wood of Spokane; three grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
