Hotel Resident Arrested In Fire
A resident of a downtown Spokane hotel was arrested Sunday for setting his room on fire, authorities said.
David Liles, 42, was booked into the county jail on suspicion of first-degree arson.
Fire officials spent the afternoon inspecting the damage in Liles’ fourth-floor room at the Otis Hotel, 110 S. Madison.
After the building’s fire alarm sounded, people in an adjoining room spotted burning clothes and paper in Liles’ room, said Battalion Chief Rich Hansen.
The residents removed Liles from the room, then doused the small fire. There were no injuries.
