Mobil Introduces Gizmo To Speed Up Gasoline Purchases

Knight-Ridder

Mobil Corp. has come up with something to ease the pain of customers who still yearn for the days of full-service gasoline stations.

Mobil customers can now sign up to receive a little key chain gizmo called a Speedpass that charges the purchase to any credit card Mobil accepts.

No credit-card swipe required.

Customers wave their Speedpass in front of the pump, and then gas up without taking off their mittens to punch the keypad buttons.
