Dollar Hits 4-Month Low Vs. Yen
The dollar fell against the yen Tuesday, finishing at another four-month low on weak U.S. economic data and worries that the Clinton administration isn’t concerned by the currency’s recent decline.
Selling against the yen extended a two-week sell-off that was punctuated Friday by the worst one-day drop in more than 1 years. On Monday, the dollar dropped through 120 yen for the first time since late January.
The dollar settled Tuesday in New York at 118.50 yen, down from 119.30 yen Monday and its lowest finish since late January.
