Ex-Coach Sues Ohio St.
Former Ohio State women’s track and cross country coach Mamie Rallins has filed a $13 million sexual discrimination lawsuit against the university, three years after she was fired.
Rallins filed the civil suit April 28 in U.S. District Court in Columbus. Besides the university, athletic director Andy Geiger and associate athletic director Archie Griffin were listed as defendants.
The suit contends that the school’s athletic administrators discriminated against Rallins throughout most of her eight-year career as coach of the teams. It also contends that she was not provided clerical staff to keep track of team statistics and that her salary and benefits were “substantially inferior” to that of comparable male coaches at the school.
