Judy Fjell To Perform Tuesday
Judy Fjell is a singer-songwriter who pens everything from love ballads to political protest songs.
The songs she writes are known for poking fun at life and politics.
She’ll perform in concert Tuesday at 7 p.m. at the Holy Names Music Center at Fort Wright, 3910 W. Custer Drive.
With inspiration from the women’s movement, Fjell began composing and performing in the mid-‘70s and has recorded seven albums since. Her most recent release is titled “Dance in the Moment.”
She has appeared at the Northwest Regional Folk Festival in Seattle and the San Francisco Folk Festival.
Her music has been called “uplifting, thoughtful, hysterically funny and powerful.”
Fjell also leads Music Empowerment camps for women that specialize in letting women express themselves musically in an environment free from criticism.
Concert tickets are $8, available at Street Music, Global Folk Art, Bountiful Fresh Foods and Recorded Memories in Spokane, and A Trip to Bountiful in Coeur d’Alene. Tickets will be available at the door for $10.
