WSU Lineman Mcshane Suspended Following Arrest

Washington State football player Ryan McShane, a returning starter on the offensive line, was booked and released early Saturday after being arrested by Pullman police for second-degree malicious mischief and vehicle prowl.

As a result, he has been indefinitely suspended from the team, said coach Mike Price.

McShane allegedly broke into a parked car, released the brake and allowed the car to roll downhill, where it struck another car and caused about $1,500 in damages, Pullman Police Sgt. Sam Sorem said.

Charges have yet to be filed.

The suspension is not the first for McShane. In March 1995, he and three other football players were temporarily suspended for their participation in a Frat Row brawl, Cougars athletics officials said.

The appointment of a new judge in the James Darling case did not take place as expected Tuesday.

Whitman County prosecutors initially believed a replacement for Superior Court Judge Wallis W. Friel would be named Tuesday, but a replacement wasn’t announced, Deputy Prosecutor Toby Krauel said.

Superior Court Judge Wallis W. Friel was removed from the case after prosecutors filed an affidavit of prejudice against the judge.

Darling has pleaded not guilty to one felony and three misdemeanor charges that stemmed from an alleged dispute at a fraternity party. , DataTimes
