Clara Behrens Cocolalla, Idaho
Service for Clara Alice Behrens, 71, will be Friday at 11 a.m. at the Sandpoint First Christian Church. Burial will follow at the Pinecrest Memorial Park in Sandpoint. Coffelt Funeral Service in Sandpoint is in charge of arrangements.
Mrs. Behrens, who was born in Illinois, died Monday.
She moved to Sandpoint in the 1930s.
Mrs. Behrens spent most of her life as a business partner with her husband, operating the Mobil Gas Station in Sandpoint and later the Pine Rock Motel-Trailer Park and Gas Station.
She later co-owned Smith’s Real Estate and Behrens Real Estate, retiring in 1970.
Survivors include her husband of 54 years, Ed; two daughters, Donna Steinacher of Talache, Idaho, and Karen Metcalf of Cocolalla; five sisters, Agnes Elliott, Wilma Amen, Charlotte Clark, Sue Ferguson, and June Dull; two brothers, Kenneth and Earl Petit; five grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
Raymond Norman Moscow, Idaho
Viewing for Raymond Dean Norman, 74, will be today from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. at Short’s Funeral Chapel in Moscow. Graveside service will be Friday at 1 p.m. at the Moscow Cemetery.
Mr. Norman, who was born in Kansas City, Mo., died Sunday.
He grew up in Oklahoma and Nebraska, and served in the Navy during World War II.
He worked for the Postal Service in Oklahoma, retiring as a supervisor. He moved to Moscow in 1995.
Survivors include his wife of 22 years, Doris; three sons, Ron and Don Crawford, both of Moscow, and Lester Crawford of Poulsbo, Wash.; a daughter, Connie Crawford Bellin of Wyoming; five grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
Earl Voyles Coeur d’Alene
Viewing and service for Earl J. Voyles, 91, will be today at Eternal Hills Mortuary and Memorial Park in Oceanside, Calif. Coeur d’Alene Memorial Funeral Home is in charge of local arrangements.
Mr. Voyles, who was born in Bloomington, Ind., died Saturday.
He had owned an automotive ignition parts store and lived most of his life in California.
He married Mildred Shanks in Los Angeles in 1929.
Mr. Voyles moved to Coeur d’Alene seven months ago.
Survivors include his wife; a daughter, Janet Yett of Coeur d’Alene; a son, Earl Voyles Jr. of Oregon; 12 grandchildren and 29 great-grandchildren.
Wilfred ‘Bill’ Wentworth Sandpoint
Private service for Wilfred A. “Bill” Wentworth, 67, will be held at a later date in Heron, Mont. Coffelt Funeral service in Sandpoint is in charge of local arrangements.
Mr. Wentworth, who was born in Minnesota, died last Thursday.
He moved to the Priest Lake area as a young man and served in the Navy during the Korean War.
He later worked in the timber industry and for the Diamond International Sawmill in Oldtown, Idaho. He retired in 1993.
Mr. Wentworth moved to Sandpoint last year.
Survivors include his wife of 20 years, Dorothy; four stepdaughters, Pearl Neveau and Mickie Caswell, both of Sandpoint, Patricia Callahan of Boise and Kay Blayne of Priest River, Idaho; a stepson, Larry Gleason of Sandpoint; two brothers, Leonard Haltlemen of Montana and Melvin Haltlemen of Port Angeles, Wash.; two sisters, Norma Nelson of Minnesota and Milly Milles of Vancouver, Wash.; 14 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren.
Henry Machado Cocolalla, Idaho
Visitation for Henry G. Machado, 61, will be held Tuesday from 10 a.m. until 1 p.m. at Coeur d’Alene Memorial Funeral Home. Service will follow at 1 p.m. at the funeral home with burial to follow in Cocolalla.
Mr. Machado, who was born in San Francisco, died last Thursday.
He grew up in the San Francisco area and served in the Navy.
He later worked as a consultant in the computer industry and moved to Cocolalla in 1995.
Survivors include his wife of 38 years, Olga; two sons, Henry Machado of Careywood, Idaho, and Michael Machado of California; a daughter, Andrea Wheeler of Arizona; his mother, Mary Machado of California; and five grandchildren.
Rose Spencer Sandpoint
Memorial service for Rose Marie Spencer, 62, will be Saturday at 1 p.m. at the First Lutheran Church in Sandpoint. Inurnment will be at Pinecrest Memorial Park in Sandpoint. Coffelt Funeral Service is in charge of arrangements.
Mrs. Spencer, who was born in Long Island, N.Y., died May 14. She moved to the Sandpoint area in 1940 and attended Bonner County schools.
She had also lived in Coeur d’Alene and Spokane.
Survivors include five daughters, Vicki Reed, Kathy Pfeiffer, Patti Yurachaek, Karen Brixen and Barbara Burley; a son, Steve Miller; her mother, Ella LaPrath; her father, John Falcone; a sister, Bernice Webb; and two brothers, Daniel Falcone and Bill Bennett.
Alma Brosinske Spokane
Graveside service for Alma Emma Brosinske, 92, is planned for 11 a.m. today at the Holy Cross Cemetery. Hennessey-Smith Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
Mrs. Brosinske, who was born in Fergus Falls, Minn., died Tuesday.
She had lived in Spokane for 85 years and was a homemaker.
Her first husband, Marcus Ebel, died in 1953. Her second husband, Frank Brosinske, died in 1981.
She is survived by a son, Tom Ebel of Spokane; a brother, Edward Bachman of Montana; six grandchildren, numerous great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren.
Gerald Haase Odessa, Wash.
Memorial graveside service for Gerald W. Haase, 44, will be at 2 p.m. today at the Odessa Cemetery. Strate Funeral Home in Odessa is in charge of arrangements.
Mr. Haase, who was born in Odessa, died Tuesday.
He graduated from Odessa High School and worked as a farm laborer.
He is survived by his wife, Wanda; a son, Jason Haase of Odessa; his mother, Faye Haase of Odessa; two brothers, Jim Haase of Lind, Wash., and Randy Haase of Moses Lake; and a sister, Colleen Lobe of Odessa.

Dolores ‘Laurie’ Homan Spokane
Vigil service for Dolores “Laurie” Homan will be at 7 p.m today at Hennessey-Smith Funeral Home. Funeral Mass is planned for 10 a.m. Friday at St. Thomas More Catholic Church. Burial will follow at Holy Cross Cemetery.
Mrs. Homan, 68, died Monday. She was born in Queens, N.Y.
She moved to Spokane from California 10 years ago and was a homemaker.
She is survived by two sons, Ed Kirsch of Hillsborough, Calif., and Bob Kirsch of Manteca, Calif.; a daughter, Debbie Tiarks of Spokane; eight grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
Theodore VanderVoorden Spokane
Visitation for Theodore VanderVoorden, 90, is scheduled from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. today and from 8 to 10 a.m. Friday at Heritage Funeral Home. Service is planned for 11 a.m. Friday at the funeral home. Burial will follow at Greenwood Memorial Terrace.
Mr. VanderVoorden, who died Tuesday, was born in Chicago.
He served in the Air Force during World War II.
He was a 50-year Spokane resident and a mill worker in the timber industry.
Survivors include his wife of 31 years, Ruth; a son, Bob VanderVoorden of Libby, Mont.; two daughters, Shirley Garcia of Davenport, Wash., and Joyce Bathe of Libby; two stepsons, Lee Gerean of Tacoma and Harold Gerean of Marshall, Wash.; a brother, George VanderVoorden of Billings, Mont.; 26 grandchildren, 39 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.

Jary Anderson Pullman
No service will be held for Jary Anderson, 73, at his request. Kimball Funeral Home in Pullman is in charge of arrangements.
Mr. Anderson, who died Friday, was born in San Diego.
He served in the Army during World War II and graduated from the University of California at Berkeley with degrees in anthropology and library science.
In 1953 he married Gladys “Kurtzi” Kurtz in Washington, D.C., where he worked at the Library of Congress until 1959.
He then moved to Tucson, Ariz., where he worked as librarian at Hughes Aircraft Co., and in 1963, he moved to Santa Monica, Calif., where he worked as head librarian for Systems Development Corp.
In 1970 he moved to Pullman and served as a librarian for Washington State University’s Holland Library. He retired in 1990.
Mr. Anderson is survived by his wife; a daughter, Kathi Patterson of Fort Collins, Colo.; two sons, Jeffrey Anderson of Marysville, Wash., and Lanss Anderson of Federal Way, Wash.; a sister, Jean Ragsdale of Waco, Texas; and six grandchildren.

Norma Larson Spokane
Graveside service for Norma E. Larson, 83, will be at 1 p.m. today at Fairmount Memorial Park. Riplinger Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
Mrs. Larson, who was born in Hobson, Mont., died Sunday.
She was a 50-year Spokane resident and a homemaker.
Survivors include her husband of 63 years, Fred; two daughters, Beverly Fyalka of Granite City, Ill., and Sharon Hanson of Deer Park ; 12 grandchildren; and 22 greatgrandchildren.
Cora Kuehl Spokane
Service for Cora Kuehl, 99, is planned for 10:30 a.m. Friday at Riplinger Funeral Home. Burial will follow at Fairmount Memorial Park.
Mrs. Kuehl, who was born in Cresco, Iowa, died Monday.
She had been a Spokane resident for 97 years and was a homemaker.
She was a member of the First Assembly of God Church.
Mrs. Kuehl is survived by a son, Robert Kuehl of Spokane; a daughter, Evelyn Benson of Everett; eight grandchildren, 18 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.
Richard Martin Spokane
Memorial service for Richard F. Martin is scheduled for 11 a.m. Friday at the Lutheran Church of the Good Shepherd. The Cremation Society of Washington is in charge of arrangements.
Mr. Martin, who was born in Sprague, Wash., died last Thursday. He was 84.
He moved to Spokane in 1929. He was a veteran of World War II, serving in England, France and Germany.
Mr. Martin worked as a retail sales department manager for Sears and Moss Co. for 32 years and was a member of the Lutheran Church of the Good Shepherd.
Mr. Martin is survived by his wife of 50 years, Connie; two daughters, Barbara Potter of the Spokane Valley, and Jody McClellan of Littleton, Colo.; and four grandchildren.
