Vernon Pettet Spokane
Service for Vernon W. Pettet, 87, will be at 2:30 p.m. Saturday at Thornhill Valley Funeral Home. Burial will follow at Pines Cemetery.
Mr. Pettet, who was born in Clarence, Mo., died Tuesday.
He was a 34-year Spokane resident.
He worked as an operating engineer for 55 years, before retiring in 1975.
Mr. Pettet was a member of the Operating Engineers Local 370 and the World Wide Church of God.
His first wife, Janette Pettet, died in 1979.
He is survived by his wife, Nina; two sons, Vernon and James Pettet, both of Spokane; two daughters, Doris Friesen and Patricia Sisson, both of Spokane; two stepdaughters, Donna Lampher of Bozeman, Mont., and Sherann Bobich of Washington, D.C.; a stepson, John McNeil of Bozeman, Mont.; 13 grandchildren, seven stepgrandchildren, 28 great-grandchildren and one stepgreat-grandchild.
R. B. Mason Rathdrum, Idaho
Service for R. B. Mason, 58, will be at 1 p.m. today at English Funeral Chapel in Coeur d’Alene. Burial will follow at Evergreen Cemetery in Post Falls.
Mr. Mason, who was born in Oklahoma, died Wednesday in an industrial accident at Inland Foundry in Spokane.
He moved to the Coeur d’Alene area 33 years ago and worked at Bunker Hill for nine years before working at Inland Foundry in Spokane for the past 10 years.
Mr. Mason was ranked as one of the top 10 fiddlers in the nation and had appeared on the Grand Ole Opry.
He was a member of the Post Falls Baptist Church and played in many bands throughout the Inland Empire.
Survivors include his wife of 27 years, Jean; four sons, Ricky Mason of Missouri, Don Shartzer of Kansas, and Ron Seiverding and Richard Sherman, both of Rathdrum; three daughters, Sherri Mason of Missouri, Debra Hagerty of Rathdrum, and Sherry Gurley of Tacoma; four brothers, Cleo, Garland, Bobby and Johnny Mason; four sisters, Vera, Lois, Maxine and Shirley; 10 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
Alice Harmon Spokane
Visitation for Alice I. Harmon, 87, will be from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. today and from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. Sunday at Heritage Funeral Home. Service is set for 10 a.m. Monday at the funeral home. Burial will be at Greenwood Memorial Terrace.
Mrs. Harmon, a Spokane resident for more than 40 years, died Thursday.
She was born in Clearwater, Idaho, and graduated from high school in Springdale, Wash.
Mrs. Harmon was employed by Crossett Store in Springdale and also worked as an airline cook. She was a member of the Hillyard Senior Center.
Survivors include a son, Marvin Ellis of Corning, Calif.; two daughters, Evelyn Amos of Deer Park and Norma Lesher of Spokane; a brother, Merlyn Ruark of Tacoma; a sister, Betty Potter of Conconully, Wash.; numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.

Stella Reasoner Spokane
Visitation for Stella A. Reasoner, 81, will be from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. today at Hazen and Jaeger Valley Funeral Home. Service will be at 1 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home. Burial will follow at Greenwood Memorial Terrace.
Mrs. Reasoner, who was born in Spokane, died Tuesday.
She worked for Two Swabbies for 16 years, retiring in 1986.
Mrs. Reasoner also worked part time for Northwest Seed and Pet, at the Spokane Indians ballpark, the Spokane Coliseum and Playfair Race Track.
She is survived by three daughters, Joanne Langdon and Janet Faraca, both of Spokane, and Carol Kimble of Auburn, Wash.; a son, Dale Kronich of Spokane; a brother, Floyd Olson of Newport, Wash.; three sisters, Bernice Anderson and Orpha Dionne, both of Spokane, and Dolly Lear of Newport; 18 grandchildren and 28 great-grandchildren.

Carl Sanders Spokane
Service for Carl Sanders, 89, will be at 2 p.m. today at Riplinger Funeral Home. Burial will follow at Fairmount Memorial Park.
A Spokane resident for more than 65 years, Mr. Sanders died Wednesday.
He was born in Neche, N.D., and was a logger for various firms.
He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Emilia; a son, Gordon Sanders, and a daughter, Jerilyn Wilbanks, both of Spokane; a brother, Henry Sanders of Walhalla, N.D.; two sisters, Jessie Paton of Neche, N.D., and Anne White of Phoenix; five grandchildren and one great-grandchild.

Frances Dunn Spokane
Visitation for Frances Virginia Dunn, 76, will be from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Sunday at Thornhill Valley Funeral Home. Service is set for 2 p.m. Monday at the funeral home. Burial will follow at Pines Cemetery.
Mrs. Dunn, who died Wednesday, was born in Wilson Creek, Wash.
She moved to Paris, Texas, as a child and then to Spokane in 1941.
She married Marvin Dunn in Berkeley, Calif., in 1944. They moved to Oklahoma, then to Spokane in 1956.
She worked for Sacred Heart Hospital and later for Crystal Linen Supply Co., retiring in 1981.
She was a member of the Dishman First Baptist Church.
Survivors include her husband of 53 years, Marvin, and a son, Wayne Dunn of Spokane.

Clarence Mustoe Spokane
Private burial for Clarence L. Mustoe, 69, was held at Fairmount Memorial Park Cemetery.
Mr. Mustoe, who was born in Gerlane, Kan., died Oct. 25.
He served in the Army Air Corps and then the Air Force from 1942 to 1962.
Mr. Mustoe graduated from North Idaho Junior College and later from Whitworth College with a bachelor of arts degree in management.
He was also a caregiver in the adult health care industry in Spokane.
There are no surviving family members.
William Giles LaCrosse, Wash.
Visitation for William E. “Bill” Giles, 37, is planned from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday at Bruning Funeral Home in Colfax, Wash. Service will be at 11 a.m. Nov. 8 at LaCrosse Methodist Church. Burial will follow at LaCrosse Cemetery.
Mr. Giles, who was born in Casper, Wyo., died Wednesday when the mobile home he was setting up fell on him.
He served in the Army and was a Vietnam War veteran. He was a truck driver. After his discharge he moved to Yuma, Ariz., and then in the late 1980s he moved to Spokane. He moved to LaCrosse three years ago.
In June he married Tina Smead in LaCrosse.
Mr. Giles worked for Davis Transport.
Survivors include his wife; two sons, Thomas Giles of Yuma and Matthew Giles of LaCrosse; a stepdaughter, Alicia Hutchinson of LaCrosse; two stepsons, Patrick Hutchinson of LaCrosse and Christopher Smead of Yuma; his mother, Jane of Yuma; two sisters, Susan Salcedo of Yuma and Cheryle Haislip of Balinda, Calif.; and a brother, Ralph Goldman of Whitefish, Mont.
Neil Snarski Coeur d’Alene
Memorial service for Neil V. Snarski, 65, will be held Monday at 2 p.m. at Jesuit House at Gonzaga University. A reception will follow at The Stockyards Inn, 3827 E. Boone, from 3-5 p.m. Yates Funeral Home in Coeur d’Alene is in charge of arrangements.
Mr. Snarski, who was born in Tacoma, died Monday.
He grew up in Tacoma and graduated from Bellermine High School, before serving as a Sergeant in the Marines during the Korean War.
Mr. Snarski owned the Burger Basket Drive Inn in Spokane from 1970 to 1995 and had also worked as a real estate broker with Cardinal Realty for several years and in the bakery business for Maryanne and Boge’s bakeries in Spokane.
He moved to Coeur d’Alene earlier this year.
Survivors include his wife, Jeannie; two sons, Douglas Snarski of Newman Lake, Wash., and Bill Snarski of Spokane; a daughter, Diane Chamberlin of Spokane; two stepsons, Jeff Yount and Kenneth Hunt, both of Spokane; two stepdaughters, Jill Collins of Spokane and Kellie Yount of Deer Park; two brothers, Jerry Snarski of Tacoma and Allen Snarski of California; two sisters, Lorraine Keeling of California and Patricia Snarski of Spokane; and 10 grandchildren.

Linda Zabel Spokane
No service will be held for Linda A. Zabel, 99, at her request. Thornhill Valley Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
Mrs. Zabel, who was born in Germantown, Minn., died Wednesday.
She was raised in Latah, Wash., and had lived in Spokane for the past 75 years.
Mrs. Zabel was a homemaker and a member of the United Church of Christ.
Her husband, Earl, died in 1971.
Survivors include two daughters, Lorraine Hollingworth of Spokane and Ruby Jen Edmunds of Newport, Wash.; and one grandson.

Florence Blanchard Spokane
Private family service was held for Florence L. Blanchard.
Mrs. Blanchard, 81, died Wednesday.
She was born in Rockland, Idaho, and moved to Spokane in the early 1930s.
She graduated in 1936 from Morse Beauty School in Spokane and worked in a downtown Spokane beauty shop for two years. She then moved to Oakesdale, Wash., where she owned her own beauty shop for a few years. Mrs. Blanchard returned to Spokane in the mid 1940s and operated a beauty shop in her home.
She was a member of Pythian Sisters and volunteered with the American Cancer Society.
Survivors include her husband of 47 years, Conal; a daughter, Darlene Donegan of Bainbridge Island, Wash.; two sons, Ronald Voss of Seattle and Conal Blanchard of Spokane; nine grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
