Sweet Comedic Music

Jack Benny, seen in a 1965 file photo, got a lot of mileage from his trusty violin, a prop he used during more than 40 years in vaudeville, stand-up, movies and television. A violin belonging to the droll comic genius, who died in 1974, was sold Tuesday at Sotheby’s in London for $84,300 to an unidentified U.S. memorabilia dealer.
