Mary Beck Post Falls
Memorial service for Mary Elizabeth Beck, 78, was Saturday at Yates Funeral Home in Coeur d’Alene.
Mrs. Beck, who was born in Coeur d’Alene, died Wednesday.
She graduated from Post Falls High School and married Ernie Beck in 1940.
They lived and farmed at the family farm until retiring in the late 1970s.
Mrs. Beck and her husband moved to Post Falls in 1983, where she was a member of the Historical Society of Post Falls.
Her husband died in 1988.
She is survived by a son, Don Beck of Post Falls; two daughters, Barbara Fullerton of Phoenix and Dorene Berard of Oak Harbor, Wash.; two sisters, Janet Hasz of Kellogg and Doris Roberts of Aloha, Ore.; six grandchildren and one great-grandson.

John Luster Post Falls
Private family service for John Joseph Luster, 56, was held recently. Inurnment will be held at a later date at the Mt. Calvary Cemetery in Bennington, N.H. Coffelt Funeral Service in Sandpoint is in charge of the arrangements.
Mr. Luster, who died Nov. 16, was born in Riverton, Wyo.
He was raised in Hancock, N.H., and served in the National Guard.
Mr. Luster lived in Wyoming, Idaho and Alaska and worked as a guide and outfitter in Alaska.
He moved to Post Falls in August.
His wife, Sarah, preceded him in death.
Survivors include a son, John Luster of Concord, N.H.; two stepsons, Tim Halbert of Medical Lake and Patrick Halbert of Athol, Idaho; two stepdaughters, Denise Bartlett of Post Falls and Debra Suit of Springfield, Ore.; his mother, Stella Luster of Hancock, N.H.; his father, John Luster of Palmer, Alaska; one brother; five sisters and four grandchildren.
Thomas ‘Bus’ Gregory Spokane
Funeral Mass for Thomas ‘Bus’ Gregory, 80, will be at 11 a.m. today at St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church. Burial will follow at Holy Cross Cemetery. Hennessey-Smith Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
Mr. Gregory, who was born in Moore, Mont., died Friday.
He graduated from Buffalo (Mont.) High School and moved to Spokane in 1935.
In 1941 he married Lily Allen.
Mr. Gregory worked as a machinist for 51 years at Union Iron Works, Coeur d’Alene Company and Diamond Drill.
He was a member of the Machinist Union District Lodge 751 Local 86.
Survivors include his wife; two sons, Thomas Gregory of Littleton, Colo., and Michael Gregory of Spokane; a brother, Wayne Gregory of Kennewick; two sisters, Garnette Olsen of Grass Range, Mont., and Margaret Emmons of San Lorenzo, Calif.; and five grandchildren.

Lela Mewborn Spokane
Memorial service for Lela M. Mewborn, 88, will be held at a later date. Heritage Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
Mrs. Mewborn, who was born in Kenston, N.C., died Thursday.
She was a resident of Spokane for 10 years and was a member of St. Paul’s Methodist Church and Dorcas Circle.
Survivors include a son, Tom Mewborn of Spokane; five grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
Mildred Ray Spokane
Rosary for Mildred R. Ray, 80, will be at 7 p.m. today at Hazen and Jaeger Funeral Home. Funeral Mass will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday at Our Lady of the Lake Catholic Church in Tumtum, Wash. Burial will follow at Scotts Valley Cemetery in Tumtum.
Mrs. Ray, who was an 18-year Spokane resident, died Thursday.
She was born in Eagle Lake, Maine, and had worked as a medical secretary for a Veterans Administration hospital.
Mrs. Ray was a member of Our Lady of the Lake Catholic Church and was involved with the Ladies Bowling League in Tumtum.
Her husband, Charles Ray, died in 1974.
She is survived by a daughter, Marianne Kahaku; two sons, Paul and Michael Ray; three brothers, Charles, Roy and Dick; two sisters, Eva and Connie and three grandchildren.
Edna Brekke Coeur d’Alene
Visitation for Edna E. Brekke, 83, will be from 4 to 8 p.m. today at Yates Funeral Home in Coeur d’Alene. Service is set for 2 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home. Burial will follow at Coeur d’Alene Memorial Gardens.
Mrs. Brekke, who was born in Enaville, Idaho, died Thursday.
In 1936 she married Ernest Wilson in Coeur d’Alene and they lived in Cataldo and Osburn, Idaho for 10 years before moving to Dalton Gardens, Idaho.
Her husband died in 1968.
She married Oakley Brekke in 1977 in Vancouver, Wash., and they made their home in Coeur d’Alene.
Mrs. Brekke is survived by her husband; a stepdaughter, Tami Schlender of Post Falls; and two stepgrandchildren.
Josephine Shea Spokane
Vigil service for Josephine Cannon Shea, 93, is planned for 7 p.m. today at Hennessey-Smith Funeral Home. Funeral Mass will be at 1 p.m. Tuesday at St. Aloysius Catholic Church. Burial will follow at Holy Cross Cemetery.
Mrs. Shea, a lifetime Spokane resident, died Thursday.
She graduated from North Central High School and worked for Old National Bank.
In 1932 she married Roy Shea.
Mrs. Shea was a member of St. Augustine Church, St. Aloysius Church, Gonzaga University Philomathea, Sacred Heart Hospital Service League, St. Josephs Children Home Auxiliary, the Spokane Club, Spokane Country Club and the Hayden Lake Country Club.
Her husband died in 1974.
Survivors include three daughters, Micky Shannon-West of Mission Viejo, Calif., Gerry Bauer of Los Gatos, Calif., and Susan Shea Smith of Spokane; three sons, Michael, David and Garry Shea, all of Spokane; 19 grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.
Memorial contributions may be made to Gonzaga Preparatory School Endowment Fund for the Roy and Jo Shea Scholarship Fund.
Jule ‘Whitey’ Sather Spokane
Memorial service for Jule F. “Whitey” Sather, 81, will be at 2 p.m. today at Ball and Dodd Funeral Home-South.
Born in McCabe, Mont., Mr. Sather died Wednesday.
He worked for the Iron Workers Union Local 14 and was also a member for more than 50 years.
In 1961 he married Marcia Cash.
Mr. Sather retired in 1979 and was a 35-year resident of Spokane.
His wife died in 1992.
Survivors include seven daughters, Julie Muelheim and Lenny Kostelecky, both of Spokane, Virginia Davis of Portland, Margie Russell of Seattle, Holly Dieter of Salem, Ore., Carol Christianson of Friday Harbor, Wash., and Kathy Myers of Maui, Hawaii; a sister, Dorothy Welsch of Snohomish, Wash.; 11 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

Gertrude Williamson Spokane
Graveside service for Gertrude Elizabeth Williamson, 80, is planned for 1 p.m. today at Greenwood Memorial Terrace. Riplinger Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
Mrs. Williamson, who was born in Elk, Wash., died Wednesday.
She graduated from Cusick High School.
Mrs. Williamson worked as a nurse’s assistant at Sacred Heart Medical Center, Holy Family Hospital, for the Newport Community and as a store nurse for The Crescent department store.
She was a member of the Royal Neighbors.
Survivors include a son, Dale Williamson of Prospect, Ky.; a sister, Rorene Sage of Spokane; and three grandchildren.
Ernest Blackburn Spokane
Private family memorial service for Ernest Milton Blackburn, 90, was held.
Mr. Blackburn, who was born in Long Beach, Calif., died Sunday.
He worked as a heavy equipment operator in the construction industry.
His wife of 62 years, Lillian, died in 1991.
Survivors include a son, William Blackburn of Fallon, Nev.; a daughter, Carol Blackburn of Spokane; 10 grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren and two great-greatgrandchildren.
