Obituaries

Enid Wisdom Pasco

Memorial service for Enid Muriel Wisdom, 78, will be at 10 a.m. today at Calvary Church in Richland. Burial was at the Mansfield (Wash.) Cemetery. Einan’s Funeral Home in Richland is in charge of the arrangements.

Mrs. Wisdom, who was born in Waterville, Wash., died Thursday.

In 1938 she married Glen Wisdom and they moved to Reardan, Wash., in 1942.

She was a nurses aide in the Davenport (Wash.) Hospital for 10 years.

Mrs. Wisdom and her husband moved to Spokane in 1986. Her husband died in 1987. A little over a year ago, Mrs. Wisdom moved to Pasco.

She is survived by twin sons, Darwin Wisdom of Poway, Calif., and Delbert Wisdom of Basin City, Wash.; three sisters, Neta Gallaher of Des Moines, Wash., Nadine Welty of Carmichael, Calif., and June McKellar of Vancouver, Wash.; two brothers, Earl Gallaher of Seattle and Warren Gallaher of Kettle Falls, Wash.; five grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

Robert Fricke Spokane

Service for Robert H. Fricke, 73, will be at 2 p.m. today at Hennessey-Smith Funeral Home. Private inurnment will be at Holy Cross Cemetery.

Mr. Fricke, who was born in Rockford, died Friday.

He served in the Air Force, and worked for the railroad for 38 years as a track department assistant foreman.

Mr. Fricke was a resident of Spokane for 30 years and was a member of St. Francis Xavier Parish and the Railroad Union.

He is survived by his wife, Lucille; three sons, Thomas Anderson of Spokane, Robert Anderson of Omaha, Neb., and Gregory Anderson of Airway Heights; four daughters, Kathy and Anna Anderson, both of Spokane, Gail Frick of Port Angeles, Wash., and Kay Slahtasky of Stockton, Calif.; five brothers, Melvin Fricke of Rockford, Lloyd Fricke of Deer Park, Alvin Fricke of Spangle, and Harold and Richard Fricke, both of Spokane; 11 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society or to Hospice of Spokane.

Edythe Woodward Spokane

No service will be held for Edythe R. Woodward, 89, at her request. Hennessey-Smith Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.

Mrs. Woodward, who was born in Steilacoom, Wash., died Friday.

She was a homemaker.

Her husband, Marshall, died in 1964.

She is survived by three cousins, Velma Weddle, Dorothy Phillips and Ileen Koegler.

Merle ‘Kayo’ Agee Spokane

Service for Merle Booker “Kayo” Agee, 71, will be at 11 a.m. today at the First Assembly of God Church. Burial will follow at Spokane Memorial Gardens. Hazen and Jaeger Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Mr. Agee, who was born in Kooskia, Idaho, died Friday.

He served in the Navy during World War II and moved to Coeur d’Alene in 1947.

Mr. Agee moved to Spokane in 1948 and worked for Kaiser Aluminum Trentwood until his retirement in 1982.

He was a member of the First Assembly of God Church, the Independent Order of Foresters and the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 889.

Survivors include his wife, Martha; a son, Ken Agee, and a daughter, Kathy Agee, both of Spokane; and a brother, Allen Agee of Tumwater, Wash.

Memorial contributions may be made to the First Assembly of God Church.

Phyllis Vaughan Spokane

Memorial service for Phyllis B. Vaughan, 75, will be at 1 p.m. Wednesday at Thornhill Valley Funeral Home.

Mrs. Vaughan, a 42-year Spokane resident, died Sunday.

She was born in Columbia, Mo., and graduated from high school there.

In 1970 she married Wm. Vaughan in Coeur d’Alene.

Mrs. Vaughan worked for Transamerica Title Insurance Co. for 11 years as a title officer, before retiring in 1979.

She is survived by her husband; two daughters, Susan Mason and Sally Strawn, both of Spokane; two sons, Paul Mason of Phoenix and Samuel Mason of Minneapolis; two stepdaughters, Michelle Dagon of Philipsburg, N.J., and Cheryl Thomas of Spokane; a brother, Baxter Branstetter of Jacksonville, Fla.; 13 grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Cheney Cowles Museum.

Hattie Morrow Spokane

Visitation for Hattie M. Morrow, 93, will be at 10 a.m. today at Ball and Dodd Funeral Home - North. Graveside service will follow at 11 a.m. at Fairmount Memorial Park.

Mrs. Morrow, a 54-year Spokane resident, died Friday.

She was born in Pierce County, N.D., and graduated in 1922 from high school in Wolford, N.D.

Mrs. Morrow moved to Spokane in 1943 and was a homemaker.

She was a member of Opportunity Presbyterian Church.

Her husband of 63 years, Perry, died in 1985.

She is survived by five sons, Glenn, Darrel and Perry Morrow, all of Spokane, Roger Morrow of Ceres, Calif., and Wendell Morrow of Colbert; a sister, Letha Gessel of Maslin, Ohio; 17 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren.

Hazel Smith Spokane

Visitation for Hazel L. Smith, 84, will be from 4 to 8 p.m. today and from 9 to 11 a.m. Wednesday at Hazen and Jaeger Valley Funeral Home. Service will be at 1:30 p.m. Wednesday at the Spokane Valley United Methodist Church. Burial will follow at Greenwood Memorial Terrace.

Mrs. Smith, a lifetime Spokane resident, died Saturday.

She graduated from North Central High School and received a bachelor of arts degree from Washington State University and a graduate degree in library science from the University of Washington.

Mrs. Smith worked for the Spokane County Library System and retired from Rogers High School in 1975 as a librarian.

She was a member of the Spokane Valley United Methodist Church and a participant in the American Association of University Women.

Her husband of 32 years, H. Irving Smith, died in 1981.

She is survived by two sons, Lee Smith of Seattle and Duncan Smith of Spokane; and two grandchildren.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Spokane Valley United Methodist Church, Muscular Dystrophy Association or the Multiple Sclerosis Society.

Ruby Warsinske Spokane

Service for Ruby Warsinske, 78, will be at 2 p.m. today at Thornhill Valley Funeral Home. Burial will follow at Pines Cemetery.

Mrs. Warsinske, who was born in Endicott, Wash., died Friday.

She was a 58-year resident of Spokane, and worked as a licensed practical nurse for 40 years. Mrs. Warsinske was a member of the Central Seventh-day Adventist Church of Spokane.

Her first husband, Pete Bascetta, died in 1990.

She is survived by her husband, Don; a son, Peter Bascetta of Vancouver, Wash.; two stepdaughters, Carol Briggs of California and Janice Warsinske; three sisters, Anna Fournier of Spokane, Virginia Craig of California and Helen Dennler of Lewiston; two brothers, Joe Weitz of Spokane and Otto Weitz of Colfax, Wash.; and a granddaughter.

Bertha Hughes Almira, Wash.

Service for Bertha Hughes, 92, was Monday at the Almira Community Church. Graveside service followed at the Almira Cemetery.

Mrs. Hughes, a lifetime resident of Almira, died Friday.

Her husband of 63 years, Emery, died in 1985.

She was a member of the Almira Community Church, Garden Club, Highland Grange 808 and Parent Teacher Association.

Survivors include a nephew, Allyn Hughes and a niece, Louise Hughes, both of Almira; three grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Almira Community Church.

Olive Eagle Spokane

Service for Olive Irene Eagle, 86, will be at 11 a.m. today at Central United Methodist Church. Burial will follow at Goldenrod Cemetery in Tekoa, Wash. Kramer Funeral Home in Tekoa is in charge of the arrangements.

Miss Eagle, who was born on the family farm near Farmington, Wash., died Friday.

In 1929 she graduated from Tekoa High School. In 1933 she graduated from Deaconess Hospital Nursing Training School.

Miss Eagle worked as a head nurse at the hospital in Oroville, Wash., for three years and then worked in Seattle at Providence Hospital and Swedish Hospital for three years.

In the early 1940s she moved to Southern California and continued to work as a registered nurse in various hospitals. She retired in 1965 and returned to Spokane in the late 1960s.

Miss Eagle was a member of the Central United Methodist Church, the Deaconess Nurses Alumni Association and the Fabulous Fifties Ladies Club.

She is survived by a sister, Eva Eagle of Spokane.

Nellie Domitrovich Spokane

Vigil service for Nellie A. Domitrovich, 76, will be at 7 p.m. today at the Cathedral of Our Lady of Lourdes. Burial Mass will be at 9:30 a.m. Wednesday at the church. Hennessey-Smith Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Miss Domitrovich, a 50-year Spokane resident, died Friday.

She was born in Northport, Wash., and worked as a secretary for the federal government.

Miss Domitrovich was a member of the Cathedral of Our Lady of Lourdes.

She is survived by a brother, Joe Domitrovich of Spanaway, Wash.; and six sisters, Elsie Subasic of Rossland, British Columbia, Donna Garcea of San Jose, Calif., Katie and Barbara Domitrovich, Frances Montani and Elizabeth Migliuri, all of Spokane.

Memorial contributions may be made to Catholic Charities of Spokane.

Melvin Ackaret Spokane

Memorial service for Melvin Ackaret, 63, was Monday at the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 2218.

Mr. Ackaret, a lifetime resident of Spokane, died Friday.

He graduated from Lewis and Clark High School and served five years in the Army.

Mr. Ackaret worked for Spokane Recycling as a truck driver for 32 years until his retirement in 1996.

He was a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 2218.

Survivors include three stepdaughters, Diane Vigil at home, Susan Rounsville of Spokane and Mary Nobe of La Lus, N.M.; a stepson, Ronald Hooper of Spokane; numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.
