Cabinet Provides Storage, Also Serves As Buffet Area

Don And Dave Runyan U-Bild Features

This build-it-yourself pine china cabinet is perfect for the dining room or breakfast nook. Not only is it an attractive and convenient place to display china and store linens, but its open buffet area comes in handy when serving.

The cabinet is built primarily from standard pine lumber, which can be stained or treated with a clear finish for a stylish, country-pine appearance. Other materials for the project include one sheet each of hardboard and paneling, glass panels or wire screen, finishing hardware, dowel pins, mirror clips, nails, screws and glue.

Designed for woodworkers of all skill levels, the project calls mostly for straight cuts, with a few curved cuts traced from full-size patterns. After the cuts are made, the upper and lower sections, drawer and doors are assembled separately. The doors are then hinged and the upper and lower sections are screwed together.

The completed china cabinet measures about 70 inches tall by 35 inches wide by 19 inches deep.

The Pine China Cabinet plan, No. 667, is $7.95 and includes step-by-step instructions with 12 photos, full-size traceable patterns, exploded assembly diagrams and a complete shopping list and cutting schedule.

A package of hutch plans, No. C26, is $17.95 and includes this project and three others. A catalog picturing hundreds of projects is $3.95. Prices include postage and handling. Please allow 3-4 weeks for delivery (for first-class mail, add $1 per item up to $3 maximum).
