Class 4A

Senior running back Riah Martin gained 107 yards on 18 carries and scored three touchdowns to lead South Kitsap (12-0) to a 34-23 victory over Cascade (11-2) in a semifinal game Friday at Tacoma.

South Kitsap, making its 18th consecutive trip to the playoffs, will play the winner of today’s Puyallup-Central Valley game in the final.

Class 1A

Joey Mellema scored two touchdowns, including the winning score, to lead Lynden Christian to a 21-14 victory over Concrete in a semifinal.

Lynden Christian (10-3) will be looking for its first state title next week against the winner of today’s Okanogan-Colfax game. Concrete ended its season at 12-1.

Mellema scored the winning TD on a 2-yard run with 1:34 left in the third quarter.

Class 3A

Senior fullback Mathias Wilson ran for 196 yards and two touchdowns to lead Ferndale to a 28-14 victory over Newport (Bellevue) in a semifinal on Thursday.

Ferndale (11-1) will play the winner of today’s Lakes-Moses Lake contest in the championship. Newport, which won the AAA title in 1992, finished 11-1.

Class B-11

Jeremy Stamper ran in a teammate’s fumble 30 yards with 1:21 left to give Mossyrock a 30-26 semifinal victory over Darrington.

Mossyrock will play the winner of today’s Waitsburg-DeSales game in the final.
