Mom Robbed Inside Home

From Staff And Wire Reports

A knife-wielding bandit robbed a Spokane Valley woman Wednesday as she tried to lull her 14-month-old daughter to sleep, sheriff’s deputies said.

The incident occurred inside the woman’s home in the 12000 block of East Fourth about 8:10 p.m.

The victim told deputies she and her child were lying on the couch when a man walked through the unlocked front door and pulled out a knife.

He demanded her purse. When he couldn’t find it, the robber grabbed a grocery bag containing her wallet and cigarettes from the kitchen table, deputies said.

The man then ran away.

The woman told deputies the robber might have followed her home from a grocery store where she bought a money order earlier that evening.

She said the man might be Asian. He was about 18 years old, 5 feet 4 inches tall and 140 pounds. He was wearing a blue bandanna over his head and ran west on Fourth.
