You Make The Call

M’s exposed as pretenders

The Mariners are pretenders, not contenders. They have proven you can’t beat good teams with lousy pitching and lousy defense. Baltimore has proven that good pitching will stop good hitting. Cleveland did the same thing to them in 1995. Go Cougs.

Congratulations in order

Congratulations to the Seattle Mariners on their West Division title. With better defense at second base and third base, one more left-handed relief pitcher, and a couple more bats off the bench, this team could win 98 games (like Baltimore) and go to the World Series. Steven Taylor Spokane

Do the little things, Lou

Piniella … played for the home runs, not the little ball, like he should have in many situations. In order to move on, Piniella has to learn to play the little ball, not the big ball. Ben Watkins Spokane

Unit out of sync

Randy Johnson has pitched so well this year, I hate for him to ruin it now. In this game, the first inning is not the kind of pitching from Randy we normally see. The homer, walk, single and double is too bad, I think every true fan hates to see Randy like that. Kendra Cady Spokane
