Idaho Enjoying Comforts Of Dome
Dome-field advantage
Nebraska is No. 1, Idaho is second, Florida is next.
In consecutive home-field college football wins, that is.
The Vandals have won 20 straight in the Kibbie Dome and are heavy favorites to make it 21 when Division II UC Davis visits at 3 p.m. Saturday.
Nebraska leads I-A schools with 39 straight home wins. Florida has 19.
Pain update
Idaho center Bill Verdonk isn’t expected to play against UC Davis.
Verdonk suffered hand and knee injuries in Saturday’s 30-17 win over North Texas. Post Falls High grad Jeremy Wallace, who replaced Verdonk, will start at center.
“Jeremy did a fine job,” Tormey said. “He’s got a chance to be a starter for us next year.”
Lineman Bob Horbaczewski (ankle) is expected to play. He’ll back up Wallace and right guard Rick DeMulling.
Notes
In just two seasons as a Vandal, Antonio Wilson has 98 career receptions.
