Pilgrim Lutheran Celebrating 70th Year
Pilgrim Lutheran Church, 2733 W. Northwest Blvd., will celebrate its 70th anniversary with a banquet at the Shilo Inn next Saturday.
Three pastors who have served the church over the years will speak: the Revs. Emil Jaech, Roland Koch and Earl Krupp. Former parish worker Eunice Kempff will also be in attendance, and Beth Ann Long will sing.
The celebration will continue at the 10:30 service the next morning, when the Rev. Warren Schumacher, president of the Northwest District, Lutheran Church Missouri Synod, will speak. The Cathedral Brass ensemble will also perform.
Banquet tickets, $16, must be purchased by Monday. Call the church office at 325-5738.

A new start
Christ Lutheran Church, 13009 E. Broadway, will offer the class “Directing Your Life,” beginning Wednesday.
The six-week class is for those who need help identifying their self-defeating behavior, learning how it originated, and creating ways to overcome it.
The class will be from 7 to 8:30 p.m. each Wednesday through Nov. 19. The cost is $15, with an additional $5 donation requested per session.
